Project TitleAdolescent Brain development and risk for psychosis
Project DescriptionThis research has highlighted that a significant number of young people in Irelandaged 11-16 years are experiencing mental health difficulties. it has implicated psychotic symptoms in the experience of a range of non-psychotic disorders among young people and uncovered a predictive correlation between psychotic symmptoms and the experience of psychopathology among adolescents as they grow older. These and other findings from this research have recently been published in academic journals and have been repoted on in mainstream media channels in Ireland This application proposed to use the research findings to produce a tangible product that will enhance clinical practice among General Practitioners.
